History
In 1967 and 1980 it was Objectives for Midland
In 1990 it became Objectives 2000
In 2000 it became Midland Vision 2000 and Beyond
And now it is time for Vision 2020
Overview
Community goal-setting initiatives have helped Midland achieve great success by discussing challenges, addressing priorities and writing down goals for the next decade. “Leaders of our city, county, schools, hospitals, foundations, non-profit organizations, businesses and the media met in January to kickoff vision 2020, our strategic planning process for the next decade,” said Becky Ferguson, one of the effort’s organizers. “Visionaries have made Midland viable and successful. It is important to get a common vision, to work together to become visionaries for the next century. Nothing can be achieved unless the whole city is involved.”
